My HQ16 Quilting Machine

Posted on December 29, 2008 by sonjabarrie

My quilting machine and I have a love / hate relationship. I love her when she works right but when she doesn’t I want her to pick a window cos she’s leaving!!!

She reminds me of a poem I learnt when I was a child (XXX years ago LOL)

There once was a girl
Who had a little curl
Right in the middle of her forehead
And when she was good
She was very, very good
But when she was bad she was HORRID!

I can get on that machine one day and it works like a dream, go back to it another and the thread breaks or shreds every 10 stitches. Frustration is not the word for it.

This is the quilt I am trying to finish, it’s for my latest grandchild who lives in Germany. It really shouldn’t be that difficult and I’m tempted to just buy him one next time!

Here’s his newborn picture, he is now one month old, at this rate he will get his quilt when he enters college!

Another storm has just passed through and this is my back deck that was not facing the incoming snow but still got a bit covered. You should be able to see the whole valley in this picture but it’s a white out.

Good excuse to get into the sewing room if you ask me.

Love you sense of humor!  We all need that at times when stitching!  I am really enjoying your blog entries!

Hey, this machine looks much more complicated than needle and thimble. I think it requires an advanced degree to use it. Way to go Sonja! And great blog.

Pardon my ignorance but… there is a quilting MACHINE???? I thought quilting was an exercise with a needle and thimble. Looks like the times have changed since we got the electric in…
