How to make money on the internet

Posted on September 22, 2009 by sonjabarrie

Sound like an odd post?  Well it is kinda but my daughter Rachael called me the other day and her laptop we gave her had died and she had just finished a long conversation with her dad who talked her through buying a new one.  Now she is really excited as she has bought a top of the line laptop with oodles of RAM and HD capacity and I am now really jealous as my laptop is now 2 years old!

So why would Rachael getting a new laptop cause me to talk about making money online? Well for a stat she realized how lost she was with no internet access, she does love being online. Secondly, the girls are now in school and she has more time on her hands, she loves being a stay at home mom and working online would kill 2 birds with one stone.  She would make money and be home for the girls when they get home from school.

One way to do this is via Internet Marketing, either with affiliate programs or your own product.  Neither is as hard as they sound but there is a very steep learning curve in the beginning. Internet Marketing is something Tim and I do and as we are still learning we have yet to make a living at it but we are getting there and we do make money online, albeit a paltry $50 every month or so.

We got our start with the 30 Day Challenge.  It’s a free online course that’s put out every year once a year and the training lasts for 30 days and the object is to make your first $1 online. Depending on how technical you are and how much time you have it may take you longer than 30 days.  I will admit it is a lot to learn but Ed Dale teaches you everything you need to know, from how to get online, to web creation to content creation, everything. If you get through the course he almost guarantees you will make money. The best part is it const you NOTHING. Everything he teaches can be done with no money which is really cool.  As you go on you can of course spend $10 here on a web domain or $4.95 with a hosting company but basically it costs nothing to learn and learn you will!

Then there’s the 30 Day Challenge Plus, this is the next level and it does carry a small charge but like the 30DC it is full of podcasts, .pdf files and video training which all helps to further your craft. There are a lot of web sites out there that will try to sell you $2000+ programs to learn what the the 30DC teaches and beyond and once you are making money maybe buying them would be a good idea.  They really take you to the next level but before you fly you need to learn how to walk and that is one thing the 30DC teaches you in spades.

I thoroughly recommend it and if you start it, DON’T GIVE UP. You don’t learn to play the violin or piano overnight, nor did you learn to walk in a week, it took a lot of trying and falling down before you managed to walk properly, apply yourself to the 30DC and you will win!
